Assessment for autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation eligibility

History and physical examination

Including comorbid illnesses, current and prior infections, drug allergies, alcohol and drug use disorder, and psychological history

ECOG or Karnofsky performance status

Laboratory studies

Complete blood count (CBC) with differential; serum chemistries, including electrolytes and liver and renal function tests; serology for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes simplex, varicella, and cytomegalovirus; urine for micro- and macro-analysis; ABO typing; pregnancy test as clinically indicated

Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy

Imaging

Chest radiograph, electrocardiogram, and cardiac ejection fraction (eg, by echocardiogram or MUGA)

Pulmonary function test, including DLCO (corrected)

Disease-specific restaging studies

ECOG: Eastern cooperative oncology group; MUGA: multiple gated cardiac blood pool imaging; DLCO: diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide.
