Head CT scans from a patient with CNS paracoccidioidomycosis
(A) Head CT at baseline, showing a heterogeneous and expansive hypodense lesion (4 cm in diameter), with surrounding edema in the right frontal lobe. Note that the frontal horn of the right lateral ventriculum is deformed by compression. (B) Head CT for the same patient after 12 months of therapy with voriconazole, with significant improvement of all lesions, and disappearance of edema reaction and ventricular compression.
CT: computed tomography; CNS: central nervous system.
