Reversal of diabetic nephropathy after pancreas transplantation

Reversal of diabetic nephropathy after pancreas transplantation
The thickness of the glomerular (A) and tubular (B) basement membranes, mesangial fractional volume (C), and mesangial-matrix fractional volume (D) at baseline, 5, and 10 years after pancreas transplantation. All four parameters fell toward or reached the normal range (shaded areas) at 10 years. The mesangial fractional volume is the proportion of the glomerulus occupied by the mesangium; the mesangial-matrix fractional volume is that fraction of the glomerulus consisting of the mesangial matrix.
