Splenic injury on computed tomography of the abdomen

The axial image on abdominal CT demonstrates splenic injury and perihepatic fluid. Abnormal densities in and around the spleen may represent intrasplenic or perisplenic hematoma. Pools of contrast (white puddles and streaks) in the spleen suggest active extravasation and/or pseudoaneurysm formation.
