Radiographs of thoracic spine in diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis

Radiographs of thoracic spine in diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis
Ossification of the anterior longitudinal ligament, similar in appearance to flowing candle wax (arrows), is seen in both the lateral (A) and anteroposterior views (B) of the thoracic spine in a patient with DISH. The changes are predominantly on the right side, particularly in mid-thoracic spine (anteroposterior view, right radiograph [B]). There is both complete and incomplete bridging of the spurs.
DISH: diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis.
