Common symptoms
Raynaud's phenomenon
Swollen fingers or hands
Anti U1-RNP antibody
Mixed clinical features
SLE-like findings:
Polyarthritis
Lymphadenopathy
Facial erythema
Pericarditis or pleuritis
Leukopenia or thrombocytopenia
Scleroderma-like findings:
Sclerodactyly
Pulmonary fibrosis, restrictive changes or reduced diffusion capacity
Hypomotility or dilation of the esophagus
Polymyositis-like findings:
Muscle weakness
Elevated serum muscle enzymes
Myogenic pattern on EMG
Diagnosis of MCTD is made when the following three conditions are fulfilled:
1. Positive in either of the two common symptoms
2. Positive anti-U1 RNP antibody
3. Positive in one or more findings in two or three of the above diseases
