Euglycemic insulin clamp in type 2 diabetes

Insulin dose-response curves during euglycemic clamp studies in controls (upper curve), patients with type 2 diabetes (lower curve), and patients with type 2 diabetes who had been aggressively treated with insulin (middle curve). Patients with type 2 diabetes have marked insulin resistance, as evidenced by a much lower rate of glucose disposal at any insulin concentration.
