Computed tomography image of mesenchymal chondrosarcoma arising from the posterior chest wall

The large tumor contains extensive areas of matrix mineralization. Aggressive lytic destruction of the posterior part of the rib and the thoracic vertebral body is noted (arrow). Histology of these lytic areas shows undifferentiated small round cells.
