This full-term infant was diagnosed with a noncritical coarctation of the aorta when she was 2 years old. On the third day of life, she developed an extensive, red mark on the left side of the face extending into the scalp. A brain MRI/MRA revealed multiple intracranial vascular abnormalities. These findings were typical of PHACE syndrome.
MRI: magnetic resonance imaging; MRA: magnetic resonance angiogram; PHACE: posterior fossa anomalies, hemangioma, arterial anomalies, cardiac anomalies, and eye anomalies.
