Open dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the fifth finger with a tuft fracture
(A) A 15-year-old male sustained on open dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the fifth finger while attempting to catch a football. (B) X-ray confirmed suspected open dislocation of proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint. A tuft fracture was noted at the distal end of the proximal phalanx. (C) Post-reduction film confirmed normal alignment of the PIP joint.
