Left atrial and pulmonary capillary wedge pressures in mitral regurgitation

Pressure tracings in mitral regurgitation. Although the mean pulmonary capillary wedge (PCW) and left atrial (LA) pressures are equivalent, a damped PCW pressure tracing obscures the waveforms, and the tall "v" wave of mitral regurgitation, seen on the LA tracing, is absent on the PCW tracing.
