Dilated cardiomyopathy

Parasternal long-axis view from a 2-dimensional echocardiogram shows a markedly dilated and hypokinetic left ventricle. The left atrium is also enlarged and there is reduced excursion of the mitral and aortic valves suggesting a reduced stroke volume.
