Episodic LH secretion during the follicular phase

Patterns of episodic LH secretion during the EFP, MFP, and LFP of the menstrual cycle. Day 0 is the day of the midcycle LH surge. There is a unique suppression of LH secretion during sleep in the EFP.

EFP: early follicular phase; LFP: late follicular phase; LH: luteinizing hormone; MFP: middle follicular phase.
