To repair a meatal stricture that has not responded to minimally invasive procedures (dilation, urethrotomy), an extended meatoplasty can be performed in the following manner: the ventral surface of the penis and urethra are incised to just proximal to the stricture, a triangle of tissue is removed, and the edges of the urethra are sutured to the penile skin.
