Thyroid volume in Italian children without iodine deficiency, as measured by ultrasound. Thyroid volume is calculated using the formula of a rotation ellipsoid model: width × length × thickness × 0.52 for each lobe. The thyroid volume is the sum of the volumes of both lobes and does not include the isthmus.
