Measurement of fetal cerebral lateral ventricles

The atrium of the lateral ventricle is measured in the transventricular (axial) plane at the level of the frontal horns and cavum septi pellucidi, with the cerebral hemispheres symmetric in appearance. The calipers should be positioned on the internal margin of the medial and lateral walls of the atria, at the level of the parieto-occipital groove, perpendicular to the long axis of the lateral ventricle^[1].
