Hidradenitis suppurativa wound healed

This picture shows the healed wound following unroofing of an inflamed nodule and multiple skin tunnels in a patient with extensive hidradenitis suppurativa of the groin. The wound healed in 4 weeks, dressed with petrolatum only. In order to avoid damage to the re-epithelialization process, no gauze or other dressings were used.
