Intracoronary ultrasound transducer

There are two types of intracoronary ultrasound transducers: phased array or solid state (left) and mechanical (right). The solid state transducer has multiple fixed transducer elements at the tip of the catheter while the mechanical transducer utilizes a single transducer that rotates rapidly to visualize 360º.
