Esophagogastric junction

Esophagogastric junction as seen during esophagogastroduodenoscopy. The light pink mucosa (yellow arrow) represents the squamous lining of the esophagus, whereas the salmon-colored mucosa (white arrow) represents the columnar gastric mucosa. The squamocolumnar junction is also known as the "z-line."
