Stereotactic breast biopsy

During a stereotactic breast biopsy, you lie face down on a table with your breast through a hole. Your breast is pressed between 2 metal plates, just like it would be during a mammogram. The machine takes X-rays from different angles. The images let the doctor see where to place the needle for the biopsy.
