Grade II subcapsular liver hematoma on ultrasound and CT

The CT scan (A) shows a large subcapsular hematoma occupying more than 10 percent of the surface of the liver indicating a Grade II liver injury. The hematoma compresses the normal liver (small double arrowheads) and contains high density clotted blood (small double arrowheads). The ultrasound (B) shows the subcapsular hematoma with linear strands of fibrinous material (double arrow) and cystic spaces (large double arrowheads) of complex clotted blood.
