Grade III liver laceration and hematoma on ultrasound and CT

The ultrasound (A) shows an almost isoechoic intraparenchymal hematoma in the liver (arrow) that mesasures 4.4 cm (+---+). The CT scan, reformatted in the coronal plane (B), shows a 4 cm laceration (dashed arrow) with a subcapsular hematoma (arrowhead) that was estimated to occupy more than 10 percent of the surface of the liver. The depth of the laceration >3 cm characterizes this as a grade III injury.
