Grade V liver laceration

The CT scan of the upper abdomen (A) shows a grade V complex liver laceration of the right lobe of the liver. The contrast difference between normal and injured tissue is better seen in the magnified, narrowed window (B). The  linear and extensive nature of this pattern, which involves segments IV, V, and VI, is described as a 'bear claw injury.'
