Factors that blunt the normal counterregulatory response to exercise or hypoglycemia
Several factors blunt the counterregulatory hormone response to exercise and to subsequent hypoglycemia, which contribute to a vicious cycle that predisposes the individual to a further deterioration in glucose control.
* These effects on counterregulatory responses during exercise are more prominent in males as compared with females[1,2].
