Three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3D TEE) performed during transcatheter closure of a paravalvular leak

3D TEE images obtained during transcatheter closure of a paravalvular leak in a patient with a prosthetic mitral valve, highlighting the value of real-time imaging-based guidance of interventional procedures. After identification of the position and size of the leak (top panels), 3D images were used to guide the placement of the catheter wire (middle panels) to allow successful closure using an Amplatzer device (bottom panels).
