Comparison of body surface area estimates according to various formulas
Calculated body surface areas (BSAs) using different formulae as a function of weight for a 175 cm tall subject. For normal and overweight weight individuals, these formulae do not differ significantly. For obese patients, several of the predicted BSAs diverge from each other. However, with the exception of the Livingston analysis, the subjects used to derive the formulae did not include a significant number of obese subjects.
