Using plastic bags to keep a cast dry

To keep a cast (or splint) dry, cover it with 2 plastic bags, and tape each bag (separately) to the skin with duct tape. In young children, you can use rubber bands instead of tape. This is because removing the tape from the skin can be painful for children.
