The following sites are part of the oral cavity: the mucosa of the lip (not the external, dry lip), floor of the mouth, oral tongue, alveolar ridge, retromolar trigone, hard palate, and buccal mucosa.
The following sites are part of the oropharynx: the soft palate, tonsil, posterior and lateral pharyngeal walls, and base of the tongue.
The following sites are part of the hypopharynx: the pyriform fossa, lateral and posterior hypopharyngeal walls, and postcricoid region.
The following sites are part of the larynx: the supraglottic, glottic, and subglottic larynx.
