5 7.2 8.4

9 12.23 14.4

Notes
  • "Unadjusted" rates for ischemic stroke refer to rates not adjusted to account for thromboembolic risk reduction with concurrent aspirin use.[1] While stroke risk generally increases with higher scores, the study reported a slight decrease in the unadjusted and adjusted stroke rates between scores of 7 and 8. This apparent discrepancy is likely attributable to random variation.
  • Adjusted stroke rates reflect adjustment for concurrent exposure to aspirin (assuming that aspirin provides a 22% reduction in thromboembolic risk) to estimate the risk of ischemic stroke for patients not treated with aspirin. Actual rates of stroke in contemporary cohorts might vary from these estimates.[2]
  • CHA2DS2-VASc: congestive heart failure, hypertension, age ≥75 years (doubled), diabetes mellitus, prior stroke or TIA or thromboembolism (doubled), vascular disease, age 65 to 74 years, sex category; MI: myocardial infarction; PAD: peripheral artery disease; TIA: transient ischemic attack.

Only digits 0 to 9 and a single decimal point (".") are acceptable as numeric inputs. Attempted input of other characters into a numeric field may lead to an incorrect result.
