Implantable electronic cardiovascular device such as cardiac pacemakers and implantable defibrillators are common life-saving devices. Device-related complications can arise when undergoing surgical interventions with electrosurgical tools due to electromagnetic interference, based on electrocautery type, implantable electronic cardiovascular device type, electrocautery location, and a number of other factors.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between CT findings and Ocular Trauma Score (OTS) in open globe injury. Methods: In 182 eyes with open globe injury, CT findings were categorized into 5 major types: scleral irregularity with decreased globe volume, dislocation of the crystalline lens, abnormal vitreous density, thickening of the chorioretinal layer, and intraocular foreign body/air.

AB Two patients had persistent compressive dysthyroid optic neuropathy after decompression of the medial orbital wall and floor. In both cases, there was ~3 mm of unresected lamina papyracea anterior to the Annulus of Zinn, and removal of this residual bone led to resolution of the neuropathy.

AB The authors present the case of a middle-aged woman with subacute progressive swelling of the OD associated with pain and severely limited duction in all gazes. MRI demonstrated a ~3 cm circumscribed mass in the extraconal space, which displaced and distorted the globe and impinged upon ocular adnexa.

AB Fabry disease is an X-linked lysosomal storage disease resulting from an error in the glycosphingolipid metabolic pathway, which leads to accumulation of globotriaosylceramide in lysosomes of the skin, kidneys, heart, brain, and other organs. There are no existing reports of histologically proven lacrimal gland involvement in Fabry disease.

AB Infectious scleritis is a potentially devastating condition that can result in severe vision loss. When traditional management fails, a subpalpebral antibiotic lavage system (SAL) can be considered to bathe the infected area with a high volume and concentration of antibiotics. Several reports show that this method can be curative for infectious scleritis, otherwise refractory to care.

Deep lateral wall decompression is a procedure that expands the orbit by removing bone from the greater wing of sphenoid however its effectiveness is dependent on the volume of bone removed.
