Elastic recoil of central vein stenosis treated with a stent

The angiograms show the treatment of elastic recoil of a central vein stenosis with a stent. A subclavian vein stenosis is shown (A; arrow). In spite of total effacement of the angioplasty balloon (B; arrow), marked recoil occurred (C; arrow). Following placement of a stent (D; double arrow), the vein was wide open with improved flow.
