Antihistamines Sedation, dry mouth, lightheadedness, and constipation
Dopamine antagonists Anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, sedation) and dystonia
  • Metoclopramide
Anxiety, depression, restlessness, hyperprolactinemia, QT prolongation, and irreversible tardive dyskinesia with high doses and long-term use
  • Prochlorperazine
Drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, urinary retention, and, rarely, extrapyramidal symptoms and QT prolongation
  • Promethazine
Maternal sedation, risk of dystonic reactions with prolonged use and at higher doses, and may lower the seizure threshold, which should be considered in patients with seizure disorder
Ondansetron Headache, fatigue, constipation, and drowsiness
