Prevalence of skeletal and biochemical abnormalities in different stages of pediatric chronic kidney disease
Prevalence of abnormalities related to CKD-MBD, based on studies in 52 patients 2 to 21 years of age with predialysis CKD. The mineralization defect was defined as an abnormal accumulation of osteoid (osteoid volume) in combination with a delayed osteoid maturation time. Increased PTH and FGF23 values were defined as those above the range determined in healthy individuals.
