Endovascular cuff repair of traumatic pseudoaneurysm

Endovascular cuff repair of traumatic pseudoaneurysm
The stomach, pancreas, and aorta of a young male patient were perforated as a result of caustic ingestion of drain cleaner in a suicide attempt. The initial arteriogram (A) shows a focal site of aortic rupture in a normal-sized aorta; a large aortic pseudoaneurysm was apparent. Aortic cuffs, which are usually used to manage type I endoleak following abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, can be used to manage such ruptures. The cuffs were positioned (B), deployed, and then ballooned to expand them fully (C). The completion aortogram (D) shows the completed repair with no evidence of bleeding.
